Varikkassery Mana
Varikkumancheri Mana, popularly known as Varikkasseri (Varikkassery) Mana is one of the oldest aristocratic Namboothiri (Kerala Brahamin) Illam (house) in Kerala. It is located at Manissery, a village in Ottapalam, which is situated in Palakkad district.
Today Varikkasseri Mana is the common location of Malayalam films. More than a hundred movies have already been shot here. such as Devasuram, Aaram thampuran, Rappakal, Thoovalkottaram, Madambi, Drona etc.
It was a nice experience to see the mana which is a three storeyed building having a number of rooms. it is made in nalukettu architecture which was common in kerala architecture.The compound also consist of 2 pathayapuras , a temple and a large pond full of water.
